Calculating the amount of CBD you’re actually getting into your body can be a little bit complicated. Tinctures often have different sizes and strengths listed, and then there is the matter of taking a full dropper or just a partial dropper. Add in the fact that only about 20% of the CBD in a tincture actually gets absorbed into your body and things become even more confusing. Our goal is to help you understand the various types of CBD and how they compare.
We created a convenient CBD Dosage Calculator that will help you figure everything out. But keep reading before you click on that link!
CBD is extracted from the hemp plant as an oil and then processed into various forms which can be easily consumed.
There are 4 primary ways to consume CBD
- Orally – pills
- Oromucosal – drops of oil under your tongue
- Vaprozied – smoked through a vape pen
- Water Soluble – in beverages like Hippi Tea 🙂
If you’re taking a CBD pill, you swallow it and about 6-15% of the CBD in that pill will be absorbed by your body. When using a tincture under your tongue, about 35% of the CBD will be absorbed by your body, when vaping, about 40% and when consuming a water-soluble CBD about 90% of the CBD will be absorbed by your body.
What this means, is that you may notice the same effects drinking a cup of our CBD tea as you would if you did a dropper of a 750mg tincture.
No matter which format of CBD you consume, it’s important to understand the various formats of CBD and consume the one that works best for your lifestyle.
